Leaving Woodside Clinic: Sad to go, but exciting times ahead

Woodside Clinic Dunstable: last day – Tuesday 6th December
Woodside Clinic Leighton Buzzard: last day – Wednesday 7th December

Woodside

Woodside has clinics in both Dunstable & Leighton Buzzard specialising in osteopathy & physiotherapy

A lot of changes have been happening at Nature To Nurture recently, but  I  look upon this as a positive sign of growth – onwards & upwards!

As you may have read in the New Clinic – Emma James blog, in the past month I have joined a new Clinic in Hemel Hempstead at Emma James Physio & Wellbeing & have ventured into on-site office treatments at Whitbread – see my blog on Corporate On-Site Massage.

As such it’s with some sadness that I announce that I will be leaving the two Woodside Clinics in Dunstable & Leighton Buzzard in the first week of December.

Woodside

Myself with lovely colleagues (from left to right): Lisa (sports massage), Diane (physiotherapist), Natalie (osteopath) & yours truly

It’s hard to believe that I have actually been a member of the Woodside Clinic team for over 2.5 years now. I applied for the post as a fairly fresh-faced graduate therapist, having been at Neal’s Yard Remedies Therapy Rooms in St. Albans for just over 6 months. I felt incredibly fortunate to join such a well-established & respected clinic so early on in my career. I could barely believe that I had got the job (memories of doing the Happy-Sian-Dance round the garden come flooding back).

New Skills

A special half-price offer meant that I hit the ground running with a high volume of bookings. The sheer number of back-to-back treatments were a bit of a shock if I am honest! but clinic work meant that I also had a lot to learn in other ways.

Woodside

Christmas at Woodside has always been a serious & professional time….

For starters I had never been shown a patient’s X-rays before, or had referrals for NHS & private healthcare sessions. Then there was the clinical notes system & medical shorthand to learn, not to mention trying to decipher my colleague’s handwriting, or them mine! Suddenly clients were seeing me alongside other practitioners & I was playing just one role in healthcare given by a whole team. With clients now sitting for me in the waiting room I certainly also improved my time-management skills – by sheer necessity.

Most importantly  I  was suddenly seeing a huge range of mental, emotional, psychological & physical conditions – very quickly  I  expanded the range of issues that  I  was treating

I will, of course, be sad to leave the incredible team of lovely colleagues & supporting staff at the clinics. They have been an absolute joy (& sometimes a real giggle) to work with. Only 6 weeks ago we were all decked out in our finest at Luton Hoo to celebrate Pratik’s 5 year anniversary at the helm with a very special afternoon tea (yum!).

Most of all though, if  I  am honest,  I  will miss my clients, many of whom are now much loved regulars.  I  have been privileged to treat them, & also follow them through the thick & thin of their daily lives

So now I am muchos looking forward to this year’s Wine & Cheese Christmas party to say a fond farewell to everyone, but if you would like to see me please book in whilst you can before 7th December!
