Covid Update: Nature To Nurture Treatments

I hope that you, your family and friends are all safe and well. Everyone has been affected by the Covid pandemic to some degree and in many different ways. I really do care about my clients, it’s why I do what I do. Many of my regular clients I have been treating for years so feel I know their families as well. If you are an existing client please do contact me if you would like to have a catch-up or chat.

I have been unable to with Massage and Scar Tissue Release since Lockdown due to the close contact required. I chose to mostly isolate at home as a social responsibility to others and the NHS. Throughout I have been practicing Aromatherapy and supplying Natural Products to help for all manner of things: Arthritis, Hayfever, Eczema, moisturising well-washed hands, stress, anxiety and sleep issues to name a few.

I like to be positive and productive. Instead of focussing on what I couldn’t do, in the past 6 weeks I have been training and working on what I can do and how I can help you

Hands-On Massage

On Thursday 9th July the government confirmed that, along with other close contact industries, it will be legal to practice hands-on massage treatments from Monday 13th July.

Rest assured I will be going back to hands-on treatments – but not quite yet

This is because the current guidance is very general, non-specific and relating to many industries. In comparison to activities like nail painting, massage requires direct skin-to-skin contact. It is therefore one of the highest risk activities, which affects yourselves, your families, myself and my family. There are ways to minimise these risks and keep clients as safe as possible. This will be done working along the same lines as first-tier healthcare staff, physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths are now. However, there is still a lot of clarification required around who we can treat, how long for, and risk assessment requirements.

Covid – Keeping You Safe

I will be spending the next few weeks clarifying this with my professional associations and insurance company, deep cleaning my house. Also purchasing the equipment and taking the measures required so that I can be as completely professional and as safe as possible when I do go back to hands-on work.

I will have a rigorous Risk Assessment in place to ensure that any work from home is as safe as possible

This is so important to me because I am aware of my responsibilities to you; your health and safety are paramount to me. I have a lot of vulnerable clients with serious conditions. Also because I work from home I need to protect both my partner and myself. I know it might be disappointing not to be able to go back to the way things were pre-lockdown, but I know you’ll appreciate that this is for your own health and safety as well as that of your loved ones and anyone you might come into contact with. Sadly one of my clients died of Covid and I have another who is still very ill with post-infection complications after 4 months. So whilst I can and will treat you, it is important to do so with some basic safety measures in place that should protect us all.

I am already getting in some of the specialist equipment required and when I am available for hands-on treatments I will let you know via a separate email communication about the date, what measures I have taken and how things will have changed due to Covid regulations

Online Treatments

The big news! I will shortly be launching an expansion of my business – Online Self Care and Wellness Treatments. Online is an important tool to use during the Covid pandemic to help as many as possible as safely as possible. We are easing Lockdown measures in the UK but across the planet the pandemic is still growing. As such we are being asked by the Government and World Health Organisation to minimise the contact we have with clients. This means that even for hands-on treatments your consultation and aftercare will be given online, preferably by video but if not then telephone.

As with physiotherapists/chiropractors/osteopaths the Government is asking us to treat online where possible as an alternative. Hands-on treatment is preferred if the case is urgent or to give pain relief or mobilisation, although this is likely to be on a case-by-case basis. Each week you will have an online session from which I will create a personalised treatment plan. This is fully flexible and I can tailor it each week to develop alongside your personal circumstances.

Who Can I Help?
The advantage of online or phone treatments is that I can offer my help to virtually anyone in a variety of situations, whether you’re struggling with a poor desk set-up working from home, injured whilst away or affected by Covid or its Restrictions, including those:
