All About Angiogenesis – empowering ways to help prevent cancer (with the help of Chocolate!)

Who had heard about Angiogenesis? Not me until this weekend!

I am very glad to be Treasurer for the ‘Aroma Supergroup’ – a group formed by myself & my fellow post-graduates from the Neal’s Yard Remedies Aromatherapy Diploma course. At our January meeting we were extremely fortunate to be given a talk by Gail Newton, a Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner & Acupuncturist. Gail is a very well-regarded & established therapist who has been practicing for over 35 years. Her lecture was fascinating enough, but I must thank her for introducing me to this TED talk & the, I can only call it, mind-blowing topic of Angiogenesis. Despite the long medical term, the talk itself is very well presented in an easy and understandable way by William Li (I am running out of superlatives here 🙂 )

For those who haven’t heard about TED talks:
‘TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.’

So have a quick look – it will only take 20 minutes of your Life but may make you think differently (& more positively) about Life, cancer, disease & proactive ways in which you can help to prevent it. Which, incidentally, involves eating a number of foods like Strawberries – and Chocolate!
